The Intention Awards
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007
These awards are granted to web sites that exemplify the act, the outcomes and the creativity inherent in Purposeful Intention. Designers that go beyond the norm to create websites that mesmerize their viewers and contribute to the evolution of the world wide web. Originality, valuable content and a keen eye for design, layout, aesthetics and navigational genius are a given. These sites offer something no one else has yet been able to match. They reveal the shining souls of their creators!
“Our purpose in creating this awards program is to encourage webmasters to design better websites. We view awards programs as a peer review system, meaning a way for webmasters to check out each others sites and reward those that meet specific criteria. This provides a useful service in that it increases the value of these sites to the community.
“Due to the ignorance of others either not reading my award criteria or just refusing to abide by it, I will no longer offer my awards. I am just tired of people expecting me to make exceptions for their site, either they don’t realize or just don’t care that if I made an exception for them I would have to make and exception for everyone.
“We want to award outstanding websites, sites with excellent design or a lot of valuable information - or even better, websites that shine above the rest in both areas. We would like to visit sites with style and value, sites which show the talent and the creativity of the creator. Our standards are rather high. It will not be easy to earn one of our awards.
There are many websites with great content and superior design on the internet. Those web designers who take into consideration the things that make surfing the internet a pleasure not just for the few but for everyone, even those with disabilities.
“This award program came into being in October 2001. Our website had received a number of awards, and we decided that the time was now right to create our own award program, and we are now listed in a number of award indices.
The purpose of the Circus World Awards Program is to honor those webmasters who show excellence in all areas of web site design. These areas include: the site’s underlying structure (page code, navigation, etc.), site layout/appearance, content, consistency, and appropriate usage of color. Technical merit and “evident thoughtfulness” is just as important as how a site “feels.”
“In the last twelve years that I’ve been “surfing” the net, I’ve seen just a few pages devoted to trains (mainly on University servers) expand into a wide variety of types and forms (not all of them good) about this subject. To make your own quality web site is a difficult and intensive process for any author, and recognition that is received for this stressful job is minimal. The Green Light Award Program recognizes website creators who have built extraordinary sites on the web about trains or their model variants.
Award Program offers 3 awards. Each one distinct in its purpose. One is the Patriotic Spirit Award which is awarded to websites with a Patriotic theme. These websites can be personal pages of Veterans or their families, Veterans Organizations, or others who promote a positive attitude towards America and rememberance of the sacrifices made in her defence.
