The S.T.W.A. (Scouting The Web Award) is a part of the Non-Profit Organization “Scouting The Web”. Scouting The Web is run by Scouts exclusively for Scouts as a free service. The S.T.W.A. was started to promote “Quality” design within Scouting based web pages.
“I am told that my award program is quite unorthodox or dissimilar to most “serious award” programs and would not receive a very high rating by award program rating groups. So I will attempt to explain why my award program is established in my way, which is from the prospective of an avid pet owner and active participant in dog performance. The discussion below although about dogs, is relevant as to why this award program exists and is established in my way.
The goal of Shandygaff Awards is to keep the Internet fun while encouraging creative thought and design. Authors understand the dedication, hard work, and large number of hours that go into creating something special online, and they are here to reward you for your efforts. The best sites will be honored with prestigious “Golden Keg Award” while many others will receive the thirst-quenching “Have One On Us Award”.
Above all else, this award program is meant to be fun and to introduce other websites to you. It is to recognize that a good site requires dedication, time, and a lot of hard work. It is for webmasters to know that there are people out there who appreciate your contribution to make the web a safer, better place to surf. Last but not least, it is to applaud all efforts the webmasters have gone to, to bring these sites to “life” and reminding us that there is good in this world of ours. Any site that gives us an emotional reaction, whether it is to laugh, cry, frown or just smile means that webmaster has done his/her job.
The purpose of Mind Your Own Business is to honor cool sites of your own business.
“To make your own (and a good) homepage is a hard and intensive job for an author. Believe me when I say that he is very pleased to receive recognition for this stressful job. Really good homepages are rare. I am sure you know lots of sites which waste your time and your money by viewing them.
This is an award for ex-smokers who are now non-smokers! The only requirement to qualify for this award and yes it’s on the honor system, is that you are an ex-smoker of at least one full year.
The purpose of this award is to recognize websites that not only provide its viewers with content that is entertaining or informing, but more importantly, inspire creative thought.
