This award program is meant to be fun and to introduce other websites to you. It is to recognize that a good site requires dedication, time, and a lot of hard work. It is for webmasters to know that there are people out there who appreciate your contribution to make the web a safer, better place to surf. Last but not least, it is to applaud all efforts the webmasters have gone to, to bring these sites to “life” and reminding that there is good in this world of ours. Any site that gives an emotional reaction, whether it is to laugh, cry, frown or just smile means that webmaster has done his/her job.
It is not difficult to put together a website, especially if you have one of the retail software packages, such as Front page or Dreamweaver. You don’t even need a vast knowledge of the language of the web, html. For many, this is as far as it goes. If you want a website that is different to the majority though, then some knowledge of the html [hypertext mark-up language] is essential. It’s sometimes easier for the younger generation because computers and all they entail are commonplace. For us old timer’s this is a little harder, but we have fun trying.
So, what do you want to see in a website? Of course you want a site that is easy on the eyes. If it can teach you something in the process, then you are ahead all the way. Better yet, if you bookmark the site because you feel it worthy of another future visit, then autors of Penmarric Award Program can feel efforts have not been in vain.
