Gern Blanston Award
The Gern Blanston Award is like no other award in that it is spelled entirely different from any other award. It clears up acne, won’t upset your stomach, promotes world peace and is the award that 4 out of 5 dentists prefer for their patients who chew gum.
The Gern Blanston Award is given to sites that possess some sort of unique quality such as original art, writing, education or some other specialty that makes it stand out. An emphasis is placed on content rather than appearance. Special attention is paid to sites that are strange, unusual or absurd, however, if yours isn’t, don’t be discouraged from applying.
Sites beingsubmitted should be more original than “Hi my name is John Q. Public and welcome to my site”, “this is my resume”, “my dogs name is Spot and my favorite food is pizza”, “this is my place on the web” etc. In other words, please have more on your site other than descriptions of yourself, pictures of yourself, interests, hobbies, pets, etc. The site should have some sort of interesting topic or theme. If you have created a site that contains the words “this is my world”, stop it.
